Question by Blake H: 2001 Ford Focus hesitates on acceleration. Mechanics please help………????
If my focus sits at a stop light for too long it will hesitate on takeoff. And it seems the longer I sit at the stop light the worse it is. Sometimes it will stall when idling but most of the time it wants to stall when I give it gas. Drives on the highway great. I’ve replaced the MAF sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, plugs and wires, pvc valve, and I’ve checked all the electrical connections to just about everything under the hood. Does anyone have any idea’s on what it might be? Check Engine light is on and the code from it was P0102 which says something about a low voltage or frequency dealing with the mass airflow sensor. But i’ve checked all the connections and the MAF sensor has been replaced(including the wiring harness) I’m totally stumped. Could someone help me?

Take it to the garage and get it plugged into the computer. Electronic diagnosis is what it’s all about these days.
Then pay them some money to rectify the problem and ask them to service it. Then if it doesn’t cure it you have some recourse for them to put it right.
You’ll probably save money in the long run.
